AV Design Associates ready for CEDIA EXPO

As CEDIA EXPO approaches this week (Sept. 9 – 13) we are excited and ready to attend. With the economy as it is there are many who are saying that the industries largest trade show is going to be a weak one with many vendors not showing. Well we have a more optimistic outlook and see this years EXPO as an opportunity to see the strongest contenders out there, both manufacturers and ESC’s (Electronic Systems Contractors) who are attending. Let’s face it, business is down and everybody is watching their money more closely, but this is the trade show for the custom electronics industry. If a manufacturer or ESC feels that it is a “burden” to attend, then in most cases, it is simply a sign that their economic pulse is weak. AVDA wants to interact and be with the most confident and strongest companies out there… after all, it is our business to stay abreast of the latest technology. It is going to be a great show and we look forward to reporting our findings here on our website, so stay tuned.

AVDA’s Report from the Austin Fall Home and Garden Show

AV Design Associates was present at the Austin Fall Home and Garden Show on August 21 – 23 at the Austin Convention Center. We were able to meet and talk to the 6 electronic systems contractors (ESC’s) that were showing there, several of whom AVDA is already creating designs for. We also talked to the multiple builders and renovation contractors who were at the show and they have all seen a slight increase in business over the last few months… perhaps a sign that the economy is starting to pick up a little bit. The builders also saw the value of getting AV consultation and design done as early as possible during a project’s life. When a design is done early on, it irons out all details and drastically improves efficiency and decreases the number of changes that usually need to be done after construction has begun. This simply saves time and money for all involved.

Whether you are a electronic systems contractor, a builder, architect, or homeowner it is more beneficial and cost effective to get your electronic systems designed early on.

This is what is possible when proper consultation and design are implemented early on in a project. Theaters such as these take 100’s of hours of design time with a trained and experienced system designer. Many people seem to think that a typical AV Integration company or ESC (Electronic Systems Contractor), or God forbid… their friend who knows a bit about AV can pull this sort of stuff off. The fact is, it takes many years of education and experience to be able to design and implement a truely unique theater experience. April 27, 2009 POOR ECONOMY FORCES DESIGNERS TO GROW
